If you're new to working on your business from home, you might be wondering what tools do I need to work productively from home? Discovering the best tech tools can make a huge difference in your productivity when working from home.
Today we wanted to share with you our favourite tools for taking a business online. Whether you're working from home or are taking your business online, we hope these tools can help smooth out the process.
Some of the tools we've been using over the last few weeks are completely new to us. Others are ones we already had in place and they are proving to be more important than ever in the current climate. Each tool is also making everyday life easier for clients at the moment.
Here's our top tech tools for remote working during the coronavirus outbreak.
1. Xero
We've been championing Xero for many years. Now, more than ever it's a must have tool for saving time when it comes to business finances. There are no books to drop off at your accountant's as they can access everything they need with the click of a button. This means we're able to see what a client has done and can provide help or support if needed during the coronavirus outbreak and beyond.
2. ReceiptBank
ReceiptBank means no more data entry or paperwork. This tool reads and extracts data from your receipts, invoices or other financial paperwork. It's quick and easy to use. All you need to do is take a photo of your receipt or forward items via email. Then ReceiptBank does the rest.
3. Microsoft Teams
We're using Microsoft Teams to stay connected with clients and our team. We enjoy hosting video meetings where we can share our screen and go through accounts together. Microsoft Teams are the next best thing to a real-life meeting. It's also great for file storage and sharing between businesses.
4. Loom
We like to use it to record 'how-to' videos for our clients using Loom. For example, we can easily record our screen as we talk a client through how to do something a little tricker on Xero. We've received such great feedback from these handy videos too!
5. WhatsApp
We've used WhatsApp personally for a long time but recently we're switching to it for professional use. We have created a group chat for small businesses, clients and members of our community so we can all help support each other during these strange times. With government support changing almost daily, it's important we provide people with up to date information. With this WhatsApp group, we can easily release instant updates and resources to our network, or send specialist links to relevant business owners.
